LOGANSPORT - Earlier this month, Logansport Memorial Hospital opened Fast Track, which is an extension of the Emergency Department. It is off the ER Lobby, Fast Track allows patients with non-life threatening problems to be treated more quickly and cost effectively. Alan Biggs, the Interim C-E-O at Memorial Hospital, indicates that discussion concerning a program like this, has been taking place for some time... Co-pay is expected at the time of service. Healthy Companies, Memorial Hospital's occupational health provider is located with Fast Track. Fast Track and Healthy Companies are open from 8am - 11pm, Monday -Friday, and 11am -11pm, Saturday and Sunday.

CASS COUNTY - The lawsuit filed by attorney Matthew Barrett on behalf of Logansport resident Mike Berkshire, against the City of Logansport, and the Parks Department, concerning the operation of Dykeman Park, could be headed to the State Supreme Court. On Friday, the Court of Appeals issued a ruling, affirming the decision of Cass Superior Court II Judge Rick Maughmer, and applauded his commonsensical approach to the case, indicating that essentially the statute of limitations had expired. LOGANSPORT - A standing room only crowd was on hand Monday evening for the Logansport City Council meeting. Many were there to voice opposition to the rewrite of the Animal Control Ordinance, and in particular to sections dealing with reptiles, including snakes. PERU - A clinic that will eventually serve thousands veterans from several area counties is now open in Peru. A ribbon cutting for the V-A Community Based Outpatient Clinic took place Tuesday afternoon.
